White Horse Archery

Our mission is to encourage our nation's heroes to conquer PTS and

chronic stress through therapeutic archery.

"I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him,

and he went out conquering and to conquer." Revelation 6:2

WHO WE ARE

Founded in Boerne, TX in 2022, Co-Founders William and Angela Phillips were led by the Lord to the perfect piece of land in the beautiful Texas Hill Country to create a safe, peaceful space for Veterans, First Responders, and their families to come and enjoy therapeutic archery.  Serving our service members is something they are both passionate about while honoring the legacy of William's father, William Phillips Sr, USMC Veteran who served in the Korean War.  Impacting the lives of our heroes with an alternative method of therapy is not only imperative, but personal to their hearts.  Giving families a place to escape and learn a new sport while connecting with other families is of upmost importance.

THERAPEUTIC ARCHERY

Engaging in archery instills a calm and meditative state for the participant.  Archery helps clients release the trauma and stresses they've been exposed to.  Archery is a strength building exercise not only for the body, but it also sharpens the mind. Concentrating, aiming at the target requires focus and slow, regulated breathing, which helps participants clear their mind of past traumas.  Archery is especially helpful for those struggling with PTS and chronic stress.  “Archery requires many attributes that soldiering demands, such as discipline, focus, frequent training, fitness and clarity of the mind for absolute situational awareness. As the archer develops his or her skills, the constant desire to succeed takes a hold of the Warrior and the journey that never ends begins," Glenn French, Veteran who battled PTS.  Those battling depression have also noted improvements from practicing archery due to the act of releasing what's inside both physically and mentally.

COMMUNITY CONNECTION

We offer both individual sessions and group sessions however the most empowering are the connections that happen in the group setting.

A community connection happens when multiple participants come together and receive camaraderie and support. Struggles are shared and breakthroughs happen together, thus resulting in similar benefits as experiential therapies.

PEER SUPPORT

To decompress after traumatic stressful situations we offer local military,  law enforcement agencies and fire departments the opportunity to bring their units out together. Not only are they experiencing breakthrough and release together as a unit but they also receive the following benefits that make working together as a team far greater.

Emotional and psychological benefits include:

  • Greater patience

  • Improved self-confidence

  • Improved cognitive abilities

  • Enhanced concentration

  • Reduced stress and anxiety

  • Reduced depression

  • Greater self-awareness and grounding

  • Enhanced calmness and well-being
